Petrol Prices Hiked by 28 Paise in Mumbai, Delhi; Diesel up by 19 Paise: Check Fuel Rates For Today

Petrol in Mumbai will be sold at Rs 89.92 per litre today, whereas, the rate of diesel will be Rs 78.26 a litre. In Delhi, petrol and diesel prices for the day will be Rs 81.91/litre and Rs 73.72/litre, respectively.

New Delhi, Sept 16: The hike in fuel prices continued on Sunday, with petrol turning 28 paise costlier in Mumbai and Delhi, whereas, diesel surging by 19 paise in both the cities. With the fresh hikes, petrol has neared the Rs 90 a litre-mark in Mumbai and almost touched Rs 82-mark in Delhi.

In Chennai, petrol rate has been hiked to Rs 85.15/litre, an increase in 30 paise from the preceding day. Diesel in the city will be sold at Rs 77,94 a litre, up by 20 paise from yesterday.

The price of petrol and diesel in Kolkata has been raised by 27 paise and 18 paise, respectively. The revised price of petrol is Rs 83.76/litre, whereas, diesel will be sold at Rs 75.57/litre.

Fuel prices in India have been going up over the past month due to the weakening of the rupee against the US dollar, and the resurrection of global crude oil prices. The Centre has pinned the blame on oil producing nations, claiming that the reduction in crude production is adversely impacting the importing nations.
