Patna, January 1: In a tragic incident, a police constable was crushed to death by an SUV which was filled with liquor on National Highway 28 in Gopalganj district on Tuesday morning. According to a Times of India report, the driver of the SUV also died, while the vehicle hit the container. The liquor smuggler was also in the SUV at the time of the incident and he suffered grave injuries. His condition is reportedly in a critical state.

The accident took place when the SUV hit the constable's motorcycle on the suspicion that he was following the car. The constable died on the spot. The driver of the SUV was trying to flee from the area and hit a container which was coming from the other side. The body of the constable was handed over to his family after giving him a guard of honour. After the accident took place, the locals gathered in large numbers and they fleed with a large number of liquour bottles which were being smuggled in the SUV.
