Bhopal, October 23: Ahead of the upcoming polls in Madhya Pradesh, a Congress MLA from Indore was caught on camera urging people to elect him and take care of his image, adding that party was not important. According to a tweet by ANI, Congress MLA Jitu Patwari from Indore's Rau said, "Aapko meri izzat rakhni hai, Party gayi tel lene". The MLA said this during a door-to-door campaigning in the state.
Madhya Pradesh will go to polls on November 28 while the counting of votes will be taken up on December 11. It must be noted that the state, which is currently under the leadership of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Shivraj Singh Chauhan, has a 230-member House. According to reports, the ruling BJP is thinking of not giving tickets to 70-80 of its sitting Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) for the upcoming polls in the state, the opposition Congress is almost ready to renominate 42 out of its 57 legislators. A Congress leader, on condition of anonymity, told PTI Saturday that the work of these 42 MLAs who are likely to renominate was found to be satisfactory.
