The Indian Armed Forces will observe ‘Parakram Parv’ from 28-30 September 2018 to mark the second anniversary of the surgical strikes against terror camps across the Line of Control (LoC) and to “showcase the courage, valour and sacrifice of the Armed Forces”.

New Delhi, September 29: To mark the second anniversary of the successful surgical strikes conducted by the Indian Army across the Line of Control (LoC), Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated the Army exhibition ‘Parakram Parv’. The Prime Minister arrived in Jodhpur earlier on Friday where he was accorded the guard of honour by the tri-services. He was accompanied by Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. Parakram Parv 2018 Schedule: Details of Three-Day Celebration of 2016 Surgical Strike From September 28 to 30. 

The government has made several plans to mark the surgical strike anniversary. On Thursday, the government released a fresh video clip of the 2016 surgical strikes which was made using overhead footage from unmanned aerial vehicles. In the last week, Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced that various events will be held from September 28 to 30 to commemorate the valour of soldiers.

The three-day main event between September 28-30 have been organised at the India Gate in the national capital and similar events will be held at 53 locations in 51 cities across the country, reports informed.

Sitharaman added that the celebrations would also include a three-day exhibition at India Gate as part of the nation-wide commemoration of the second anniversary of the Army's surgical strikes across the Line of Control. Meanwhile, a three-day exhibition showcasing the Defence forces' arms and ammunition and models of assets was inaugurated in Chennai on Friday.
