Mumbai, September 4: The Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) received nearly 1 lakh job applications for several vacancies at the civic body. Around 1 lakh applicants applied for jobs at the Panvel civic body for nearly 377 corporation vacancies. The Panvel Municipal Corporation invited applications to recruit officials and personnel for the A to D categories.

The PMC also extended the application date to September 15. According to a report in Hindustan Times, the Panvel civic body has undertaken a recruitment drive for the first time since its existence in October 2016. Of the 1 lakh applicants who registered for the recruitment drive, 44,000 applicants have already completed the online process. Regarding the recruitment drive, Ganesh Deshmukh, municipal commissioner, said, "We have extended the application date to ensure everybody gets a chance and we get the best of the recruits. We are ensuring that it is a completely transparent process, and all the details have been given on our website."

Deshmukh also said candidates will get jobs in the civic body based on their merits. He also cautioned candidates not to fall prey to those offering help to clear the recruitment process. The Panvel civic body has several vacancies across various departments, including administrative, engineering, technical, legal, fire service, security service, information and technology. Candidates interested in applying for the vacancies can do so by September 15.
