Panchkula Gangrape Case: Three Policemen Suspended For Negligence, Haryana Police Ensures Safety of Victim
Haryana Police has suspended three police personnel for negligence in a case of sexual assault against a woman from Panchkula.
Chandigarh, July 20: Haryana Police has suspended three police personnel for negligence in a case of sexual assault against a woman from Panchkula. Earlier the police have also arrested two people in connection with the case. 40 men allegedly gang-raped the woman after being held captive in a guest house for four days when she went to find a job.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) RK Meena while speaking to media ensured strict action against those found guilty of negligence. He said, “Three police personnel have been suspended. Our priority is the safety and security of the victim.” The investigation is underway in the case.
According to reports, at least 40 men allegedly gang-raped the woman in Morni Hill area of Haryana's Panchkula district. The woman lodged a complaint in Manimajra Police Station in Chandigarh. In the complaint, she alleged that she was kept captive at a guest house and raped by at least 40 men in turns. One of the accused was even known to her husband, and he had promised to offer her a job. The victim managed to escape on Thursday.
