Palghar, October 15: In a tragic incident, a four-storey building collapsed in Virar area of Maharashtra’s Palghar district late on Tuesday evening. So far, preliminary reports claim that one girl has been killed in the incident. Also, several people are feared to be trapped under the debris. After receiving the information about the collapse of slab, civil authorities immediately rushed to the spot. Rescue operations are underway at the collapse site. The building, named Nityanand Dham, was illegally constructed, reported India Today. Municipal Corporation officials have also reached the spot. More details are still awaited.

Last month also, a four-storey building collapsed in Mumbai's Crawford Market area. The incident took place at Lokmanya Tilak Road in South Bombay region. As soon as the incident was reported, seven fire brigade vehicles were pressed into service. No casualty was reported in the collapse.
