Palghar, May 28: Two people were injured in an explosion in a chemical factory in Tarapur industrial area of Palghar in the wee hours of Tuesday. The chemical blast at Varsha Organic Pvt Ltd was reportedly caused by reactors. According to eyewitnesses, the explosion was heard around five kilometres radius of the incident spot. In the incident, two workers sustained injuries while other six labourers working in the factory ran out immediately after the blaze erupted. According to locals, the ambulance did not arrive even after 30 minutes of the explosion. Police said, "We've taken 2 injured to the hospital in our vehicle. Injured were taken to the Tunga Hospital in a police vehicle. Labourers in the neighbouring factories also fled out after hearing the blast. The location was cordoned off after the fire officials carried out cooling operations. In a similar incident, two weeks ago, three workers died in a chemical factory in Tarapur MIDC after inhaling toxic gas.
