Pakistani Drone Enters Indian Border Near Firozpur Hussainiwala Border Post; BSF, Punjab Police on High Alert

Firozpur, October 8: Border Security Force (BSF) personnel on Monday night spotted a drone near Firozpur Hussainiwala border post in Punjab. According to reports, the unmanned aerial vehicle was first spotted near the border at around 10 pm and then entered into the Indian side from Pakistan after 12 midnight. The BSF and Punjab Police are carrying out a search operation  to track the drone and to find out if drugs or weapon were sent from across the border. Last month also, two crashed Pakistani drones were recovered from the border areas in Punjab’s Amritsar district. The drones were used to smuggle arms into the country. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Balbir Singh had said, “Four terrorists of Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZB) were recently arrested. During interrogation, they revealed that two Pakistani drones had crashed in Amritsar district. We have recovered parts of those drones.”

After the recovery of two drones last month, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to look into the issue as the earliest. The Punjab Chief Minister took to micro-blogging site Twitter and flagged several incidents of Pakistan-origin drones dropping consignments of arms and ammunition lately. After assuming the charge, Air Chief Marshal RK Bhadauria had also said that it is a space violation issue and necessary action has been initiated in this regard.
