Pakistani Drone Captured at Attari Border, Days After Punjab Police Busted Khalistani Terror Module

Chandigarh, September 27: Another Pakistani drone was captured by Punjab Police along the Indo-Pak border on Friday. According to a tweet by News 18, the police captured a drone near Attari border in Punjab and one person has been taken into custody. Police suspect that this could be a Khalistan-JeM joint operation. After the drone was captured, Police is now investigating if the drone was carrying weapons or fake currency or drugs.
There have been several reports in the last few days of drones being used to drop weapons from across the border. On Wednesday, South Western Command chief Lt Gen Alok Singh Kler said there was 'nothing to worry'. Kler added that Indian armed forces are capable of identifying such devices and any military drone venturing towards Indian side from Pakistan will be "shot down". On Sunday, the Punjab Police had claimed to have busted a terror module of the Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF). The module, believed to be backed by a group based in Pakistan and Germany, said the terror group was conspiring to unleash a series of strikes in Punjab and adjoining states. According to reports, the accused revealed that drones were used to airdrop arms and ammunition, officials of the Counter-Intelligence Wing of the Punjab Police said.
Earlier this week, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh flagged several incidents of Pakistan-origin drones dropping consignments of arms & ammunition lately. Singh urged Home Minister Amit Shah to look into the issue as the earliest. The Punjab Chief Minister said the drone incidents were just one of Pakistan’s “sinister designs” after the government scrapped Article 370, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
