Srinagar, February 28: Pakistan on Thursday violated ceasefire by shelling with mortars and firing of small arms in Sunderbani, Mankote, Khari Karmara and Degwar sectors. The shelling which started at 6 am was paused for some time, but the firing resumed at 3 pm. Indian forces gave befitting reply. Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated after the Pulwama Attack which took place on February 14. IAF Pilot Air Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman To Be Released by Pakistan Tomorrow As 'Peace Gesture', Says Imran Khan.
On Wednesday too, India retaliated to ceasefire violation by Pakistan. According to reports, the Indian armed forces decimated five Pakistani posts after the neighbouring country resorted to ceasefire violation at multiple locations. The Indian forces yesterday bombed Dara Sher Khan and Chamb sectors in Pakistan.
Tensions between the two neighbouring countries reached a peak after the Indian Air force (IAF) destroyed Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terror camp in Pakistan's Balakot district. A day after the IAF's air strikes, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) violated the Indian air space. In the engagement, Pakistan's F-16 fighter jet was shot down. In the process, the IAF also lost one Mig-21 Bison warplane. Pakistan captured an IAF pilot. Meanwhile, Pakistan PM Imran Khan on Thursday announced in the National Assembly that it will release the IAF pilot as a peace gesture.
