Poonch, September 30: A Pakistan helicopter today violated the Indian airspace in Gulpur Sector of  Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch District around 12:13 pm. The helicopter flew inside the Inside territory. The Indian forces also opened fire at the Pakistani helicopter but it returned without any damage. According to experts, Pakistan planned this activity to show aggression along the Line of Control (LoC).

The Pakistan helicopter violated the Indian airspace just a day after External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj launched a scathing attack on the neighbouring country for providing safe haven to terrorists.

In a similar incident in February, A Pakistani military helicopter flew dangerously close to the LoC in Khari Karmara area of Poonch district. That time, the Pakistani helicopter flew over Pallandri area in PoK before returning. According to mutually agreed norms along the LoC, helicopters are not allowed from coming within one kilometre of the de facto border, and fixed-wing aircraft are not allowed to come within 10km of the LoC.

Earlier this month, Pakistan’s Border Action Team (BAT) murdered Border Security Force (BSF) head constable Narender Kumar on the night of September 18. The mutilated body of Kumar was found hours after Pakistan started an unprovoked firing in Ramgarh sector of Jammu on the patrolling party which went ahead for clearing elephant grass or 'Sarkanda'. Kumar's throat was slit while his eyes were gouged out.
