New Delhi, February 20: A Twitter account of Pakistan Defence Command has been blocked in India after it got hacked by unknown people. "@PDCMDOfficial's account has been withheld in India in response to a legal demand," this message appears when one tried to check the Twitter account from India. The account was reportedly hacked and hackers shared anti-Pakistan posts by it.
The development comes two days after Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs website went down in several countries including the US. Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs website was accessible in India on Monday, but an attempt to open the Pakistan Army website showed this message: "The owner of this website (www.pakistanarmy.gov.pk) has banned the country or region your IP address is in (IN) from accessing this website." Three Reasons Why Pakistan's Demand of ‘Actionable Intelligence’ on Pulwama Attack is Laughable.
Pakistan's Foreign Office spokesperson Mohammad Faisal had then blamed India for the alleged hacking. Incidentally, the cyber attacks on Pakistan government's websites and account started after the February 14 attack on India's security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district. As many as 40 jawans of CRPD lost their lives in the attack, responsibility of which was claimed by Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed terror outfit.
40 CRPF personnel were killed when their convoy was targeted on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway on February 14. The convoy comprised 78 buses in which around 2500 personnel were travelling from Jammu to Srinagar. Soon after, Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), which is based in Pakistan and backed by the Pakistani administration, claimed responsibility for the attack.
