Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmaavat’s release date announcement has affected a string of films at once. One of these movies is Vishal Pandya directed ‘Hate Story IV’. The bold Hate Story franchise came up with its fourth installment starring Urvashi Rautela, Karan Wahi, Vivan Bhathena and Ihana Dhillon in the lead. After Deepika Padukone’s period drama locked 25 January for its screening, the films like Pari, Drive and Aiyyari shifted their release dates accordingly. As an after effect, Hate Story IV will now release on March 9 instead of March 2.

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#HateStoryIV, directed by Vishal Pandya and produced by TSeries, to release on 9 March 2018... The erotic thriller stars Urvashi Rautela, Karan Wahi, Vivan Bhathena and Ihana Dhillon.” The makers of the bold franchise chose to avoid the clash with Anushka Sharma starrer Pari which is slated to hit the big screen on March 2. Director Vishal Pandya wrote on the micro blogging site, “Walk a mile to avoid a fight, But when one starts, Don’t back down an inch… ‘Hate Story 4’ 9 March, 2018.” The sequel is touted to be bolder and darker than the previous installments.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte, Sonam Kapoor’s Padman is totally unfazed by Padmavat’s release. R Balki’s social drama on menstrual hygiene will release along with Padmaavat on January 25. The makers had sealed the date much before the Padmaavat creators and are ready to encompass the magnum opus in its slot. Both the films will fight at the box office on the Republic Day weekend.
