According to police, Naresh murdered 32-year-old Pooja Singh Dey in an attempt to rob her after she booked the cab privately via Ola app in the early hours of July 31. Her body was discovered from a property in the Bagalur police limits near the airport, reported The Indian Express. With the help of cloth tags and the ring she was wearing, cops traced the victim's origin to West Bengal.

“The pictures of the person reported as missing in the Kolkata police station matched with that of the unidentified woman whose body was found in the Bagalur police limits,” a police official in Bengaluru said.

After knowing her identity, police started scanning her calls and email and they learned that she had booked an Ola cab before her body was discovered. Cops traced Nagesh and found that he had not done any trips for the cab-aggregator after dropping Pooja. During the interrogation, Naresh admitted to the crime and cops were able to recover the victim's belonging. Nagesh has been remanded to judicial custody.
