Puri, January 22: In a tragic incident, at least eight people have been killed in a road accident in Odisha on Tuesday. According to a tweet by ANI, the accident took place after a truck overturned at Poiguda ghat near Baliguda in Kandhamal district today morning. Over 25 people have been critically injured in the accident. Reports inform that rescue operation is currently underway. The people who have been injured in the accident have been shifted to hospitals in Berhampur and Brahmanigan.
On Monday, four people were killed when a sports utility vehicle (SUV) carrying them collided head-on with a truck in Kendrapara district of Odisha. As per details by Police, the accident happened near Kattia Chowk on the Cuttack-Chandaballi State Highway. The passengers of the SUV were travelling to Cuttack railway station from Kendrapara town to catch a train to Mumbai, a police officer said. Earlier this month, at least five people were killed after a car carrying them rammed into a stationary truck near Kendrapara district town in Odisha. Reports inform that the accident took place near Aaanlabanka Chowk where the car dashed against the truck parked along Paradip-Daitary expressway.
