Bhubaneswar, December 14: A woman was allegedly gang raped by three youths for objecting to the noise during a birthday celebration in Bhubaneswar.  The incident took place in Mancheswar police jurisdiction on December 11 (Sunday) came to light after the survivor lodged a complaint on Monday. 

Based on a complaint lodged by the woman at Mancheswar Police Station on Monday, police registered a case under relevant sections of the IPC and arrested the three accused, reported KalingaTV.

Police said that Deepak organised a party to celebrate his birthday on December 11 evening. As the accused were making loud noise, the survivor who lives in the locality raised objection. However, angry over the complaint, the accused trio dragged the woman into a house and took turns to rape her. The woman’s husband was absent from home at that time. When the victim screamed for help, some neighbours rushed to the area and rescued her from clutches of the accused. The victim and her husband lodged a case at Mancheswar police station against the accused and some of their associates. On the basis of the complaint, a case under relevant sections of IPC was registered and the trio was arrested. The accused have confessed to their crime during questioning.
