Odisha Horror: 21-Year-Old Woman Gang-Raped by 3 Men in Nayagarh Forest in Front of Fiance, Accused Film Act and Share Video on Social Media

A 21-year-old woman in Odisha was gang-raped in front of her fiance, held at knifepoint, by three attackers who filmed and shared the assault online. Police have detained suspects, are investigating, and are working to remove the video.

Nayagarh, October 26: A brutal incident of sexual assault occurred in Odisha's Nayagarh district, where a 21-year-old woman was reportedly gang-raped in front of her fiance by three unidentified men. The couple, returning home after visiting the Fategarh Ram Temple on October 20, were ambushed near Pithakhai forest.

TOI reported that the horrifying act was filmed on a mobile phone, and the attackers reportedly shared the video on social media, where it quickly went viral, intensifying the trauma for the victims. The incident only came to light on Friday when the woman and her fiance approached the Fatehgarh police station to report the crime.

According to Khandapada Sub-divisional Police Officer Bimal Kumar Barik, the attackers allegedly threatened the couple before committing the assault. Police have since detained three suspects for questioning and are actively investigating the case. Officials stated that the victim's medical examination is underway, and arrangements are being made to formally record her statement. Authorities have also said that they will remove the video from social media platforms.
