New Delhi, November 2: In a tragic incident, a minor girl was allegedly kidnapped and gangraped by three men in Odisha. According to a tweet by ANI, three burglars, who must have apparently planned a major theft, committed the crime by entering the victim's house in Ganjam on October 31. According to PK Mohapatra, Addl. SP informed that as soon as the incident was reported, a team of police swung into action. "Immediate action was taken. Two teams have been formed for the probe. SP Ganjam is leading a team that has reached the spot", Mohapatra added.
In another similar incident, a 30-year-old cab driver in Uttar Pradesh was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly raping a minor girl. The driver had been dropping to school for the past two-three months.
Another incident was reported from Delhi where a 20-year-old woman was allegedly raped by her neighbour on the pretext of providing her a job. Reports by police inform that the incident took place in September in Delhi’s Badarpur area and the complaint was lodged this week. In October, another similar incident of rape was reported from Odisha after an eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a man in Jajpur district. According to the complaint filed by the father of the victim, the minor girl had gone to witness the immersion ceremony of Goddess Durga at Rice mill area on Saturday night.
According to a report by PTI, Amitabh Mohapatra, inspector-in- charge (IIC) of Jajpur Road police station said seeing her alone the accused lured her with giving her chart. He then took the minor girl to an isolated place and raped her there.
