Bhubaneswar, November 20: A bus carrying passengers fell from the Mahanadi bridge near Jagatpur in Cuttack. At least 12 people have died and 49 have been injured in the incident. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed deep grief at death of passengers in the accident and announced ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to next of the kin of the deceased, as well as free treatment for those injured, reported news agency ANI.
In April, in a similar incident in Odisha's Kalahandi, 2 people died and 30 were reportedly injured after a bus, they were travelling in fell down 30 feet from a bridge on National Highway 26, near Kalahandi.
