Mumbai, April 3: Obaid Radiowala, an associate of underworld don Ravi Pujari, has been sent to police custody till tomorrow by the Esplanade court before which he was presented. Radiowala was extradited a day earlier from the United States, where he was staying illegally since September 2017.
Radiowala is charged in the 2014 firing case on filmmaker Karim Morani, along with being involved in the plot to assassinate renowned director Mahesh Bhatt.
The accused is considered to be a top aide of gangster Ravi Pujari, who has been arrested in Senegal based on the red corner notice issued by India.. The group run by Pujari is charged of running an extortion racket in Mumbai.

Among charges levelled against Radiowala include attempt to murder, criminal conspiracy, extortion, forgery, cheating, theft and possession of illegal firearms and transmission of information.
The police has also invoked the stringent provisions of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), which would prevent his legal counsel from securing bail.
