Kolkata, May 27: Amid wedding rumours, famed Bengali film actress and the Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Nusrat Jahan was spotted seeking blessings at The Khwaja Gareeb Nawaz-Ajmer Sharif Dargah on Sunday. The 28-year-old TMC leader won the Basirhat seat with a thumping majority by defeating her nearest rival Sayantan Basu by 3,50,369 votes in the recently concluded Lok Sabha Elections 2019. The pretty Bengali actress took to micro-blogging site Twitter to share her pictures. Jahan tweeted her picture with a caption, saying, “Seeking blessings at The Khwaja Gareeb Nawaz - Ajmer Sharif Dargah today.” If reports are to be believed, Nusrat is all set to tie the knots in June with a Kolkata based entrepreneur Nikhil Jain. On April 22, the 28-year-old TMC leader had filed her nomination for the Basirhat parliamentary constituency in West Bengal. Accompanied by a large number of TMC activists, the Bengali film actress, filed her nomination at the District administrative office in North 24 Parganas.
The ruling TMC in West Bengal had nominated the young actress for the Basirhat seat, instead of the party's sitting MP Idris Ali. The party had announced its list of candidates, giving 41 per cent representation to women, and including a number of Bengali screen celebrities like Mimi Chakraborty and Nusrat Jahan.
