Nuh Gangrape: NHRC Issues Notice to Haryana DGP on Dalit Girl's Gangrape, Seeks Report Within 4 Weeks

The National Human Rights Commission on Friday issued a notice to Haryana over alleged gang rape of a Dalit girl in Nuh and called for a detailed report in the matter within four weeks.

Chandigarh, July 12: The National Human Rights Commission on Friday issued a notice to Haryana over alleged gang rape of a Dalit girl in Nuh. In the notice, the rights commission has called for a detailed report in the matter within four weeks.

Earlier on Wednesday, a report came out that a Dalit minor - student of class six - was gang-raped after being abducted in Nuh Anaz Mandi, which is 40 kilometres from Gurugram in Haryana. After the crime was reported, police took the statement of the victim and her grandmother, who had stated that they have a danger to their life. Police have register FIR under the POCSO act and have launched a manhunt to nab the accused.

According to the complaint, the victim - who used to stay with her grandmother after her mother's death - went to take Lassi from a shop. While returning she was abducted by two motorcycle-borne cyclists and taken to an old house. There she was gang-raped and later dropped to her house at around 8 pm.

The minor then narrated the entire incident, who called the police and the case was registered. The three accused have been identified as Rizwan, Dhakkan and Soam. All are absconding till now.
