NSCN(IM) Hideout Out Camp in Manipur Dismantled by Indian Army
A huge cache of arms, ammunition and other war-like accessories were seized in the raid carried out by the forces. The raid was carried out at a camp located in Kekru Naga region of Manipur in the night of July 5. One NSCN(IM) militant was arrested from a nearby village, whereas, other cadres of the hideout succeeded in escaping.
New Delhi, July 7: The Indian Army issued a statement on Sunday claiming that it has dismantled an undesignated hideout camp of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Isak-Muivah). A huge cache of arms, ammunition and other war-like accessories were seized in the raid carried out by the forces.
The raid was carried out at a camp located in Kekru Naga region of Manipur in the night of July 5. One NSCN(IM) militant was arrested from a nearby village, whereas, other cadres of the hideout succeeded in escaping. Indian, Myanmar Armies Target NE Militants in Coordinated Operation
"In a major blow to the insurgent groups Indian Army tps busted a NSCN(IM) hideout at Kekru Naga Village in Manipur on 5 July resulting in recovery of large quantities arms and ammunition," said the statement issued by Eastern Command of the Indian Army.

"However, seeing the troops advancing toward their camp, the cadres fled leaving huge amount of arms, ammunition, uniform and other war-like stores," the Army further said.
Notably, the NSCN(IM)'s leadership entered agreed to a ceasefire with India in 1997. The group was directed to reveal all its camps in Manipur which would be dismantled by the Indian Army.
In 2015, Isak Chishi Swu and Yhuingelang Muivah entered into a peace agreement with India. However, the NCSN(IM) cadres were accused in the past couple of years of carrying out extortionist activities.
