Mumbai, August 31: Minutes after the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the merger of 10 Public Sector Undertaking (PSUs) banks and amalgamated it into four entities, reports arrived that the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rate slipped to 5 (five) percent in the quarter ended June 30. The government data even states the country's GDP growth was sharply lower than economists' expectations, which predicted that it would improve after the Union Finance Ministry's measures to strengthen the economic slowdown.
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Friday successfully performed fourth Lunar Bound orbit manoeuvre for Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft. The manoeuvre was carried out at 6:18 pm using the onboard propulsion system. The duration of the manoeuvre was 1,155 seconds. With this manoeuvre, the spacecraft achieved the orbit 124 km x 164 km.
