Noida, October 18: In a shocking case, a 15-year-old, who was preparing for the engineering entrance exam, allegedly jumped from the eighth floor of a flat in Noida Sector 61 on Thursday evening. Before jumping, the teenager attacked a 21-year-old BTech student with a knife and hammer, the Hindustan Times reported. According to the report, the boy and the woman lived in different towers of the same housing society. Around 5:30 pm on Thursday, the woman was alone at her residence, when the boy, who was class 9 student, entered and attacked her.

On hearing the woman's cries some neighbours rushed for help. The woman was injured badly and was bleeding from her head and neck. She was initially taken to the nearby private hospital from where she was referred to Fortis Noida. The neighbours also informed the police about the incident, HT reported.

When the neighbours rushed to rescue of the victim, the boy locked himself in another room and allegedly jumped off from the balcony, the cops said. When the cops reached, the boy was found behind the building with grave injuries. He was rushed to the same hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Meanwhile, an investigation has been launched into the incident. So far, police are trying to find out a connection between the two and are probing all angles. The body has been sent for a postmortem and reports are awaited.
