Noida, January 5: A manager of a Business process outsourcing (BPO) company in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida has been taken to critical care after being shot by his former employee. The accused Anoop Singh who used to be an employee of the Noida BPO shot his manager in the chest on Wednesday allegedly after being fired from the job.

NDTV reported that the accused is a resident of Delhi's Ashok Nagar and used to work as a data entry operator at NSB, a BPO in Noida Sector 2. Police said that Singh had approached Islam one month ago seeking his job back but his request was turned down.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Ashutosh Dwivedi said Islam sustained severe injuries to his chest and was rushed to Kailash Hospital where his condition remains critical. Since committing the crime, Singh has been missing and police teams have been formed to nab him.

In a similar incident, a tea shop owner in Kerala's Malapurram district was severely injured - and is fighting for his life - after a customer, irate over the quality of the tea, stabbed him on Tuesday, police said.
