Kanpur, May 15: In a bizarre and distressful incident, a man allegedly killed his wife with a brick over a delay in giving him a head massage in Noida on Monday, May 13. The Uttar Pradesh police have arrested Harendra Giri (36) for the alleged murder of his wife, Pratibha Giri (34), also known as Reenu, in Chhajarsi village.

According to the Times of India report, Pratibha Giri, originally from Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh, had recently moved to Noida with her husband and their three daughters. The family had settled into a rented home in Chhajarsi village, Sector 63, just days before the incident. Man Kills Wife With Brick Over Delay in Head Massage

The incident occurred on Monday night when Harendra Giri, under the influence of alcohol, demanded a head massage from his wife. At the time, Pratibha was preparing dinner and requested her husband to wait, which led to a heated argument. In a fit of rage, Giri grabbed a brick from within the residence and assaulted his wife, causing fatal injuries.

Cops Find Deceased's Daughters Around Her

The couple's five-year-old daughter witnessed the assault while their youngest child was asleep and the eldest was out of the house. Neighbours, hearing Pratibha's screams, alerted the police. Upon arrival, the police found the victim's daughters beside their mother, who was lying in a pool of blood. She was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival. Further investigation revealed strained relations between the couple, with Giri expressing discontent over having three daughters and a desire for a son. The police are currently awaiting a formal complaint from the deceased's family to register an FIR. Once filed, Giri will face murder charges. The family of the deceased has been notified and is travelling to the city. The body of Pratibha Giri has been sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death. Further investigation is underway.
