Noida, March 30: A 30-year-old software engineer, residing in Sector 121 of Noida, committed suicide in the early hours of Saturday. The deceased, identified as Ravi Heliwal, was a resident of Dhanbad in Jharkhand. He was employed with a multinational networking and telecommunications company in Noida's Sector 62.
Investigation into the case has revealed that Heliwal jumped from the 16th floor of a highrise residential building located at 'Homes 121' in Sector 121. "His family has been informed," said another official, adding that prima facie the case appears to be a suicide. However, an investigation is being conducted by the police to determine the reason which compelled Helival to take the extreme step.
Reports citing police sources claimed that Helival's reporting manager and colleagues described the deceased as an "introvert". None of them suspected him to be depressed.
Helival was reportedly asked to come in the morning shift on Saturday, one of the company's manager was reported as saying. The deceased, however, had applied for a leave today.
The body has been sent for post-mortem. After the autopsy report is handed over to the police, the mortal remains will be given to the bereaved family.
