Patna, Sep 18: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has been admitted at the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi for routine a health checkup. On Monday, Kumar made an unscheduled visit to the national capital probably to finalise the seat-sharing arrangements with other NDA partners ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. A PTI report quoted sources saying that Kumar left for Delhi on Monday afternoon and is likely to stay there for the next couple of days. Kumar's visit to Delhi comes a day after the state executive meeting of his party Janata Dal (United).

The JD(U)'s state executive meeting on Sunday saw the induction of poll strategist Prashant Kishor. The Chief Minister reportedly told party workers that decks had been cleared for a "respectable" seat-sharing arrangement.

Earlier this week Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar was admitted to the AIIMS after his health declined. Parrikar had returned from the US in the first week of September and later was admitted to a hospital at Candolim in north Goa.

Parrikar, who has been undergoing treatment for a pancreatic ailment is being examined by a team of doctors at the premier hospital, a source at the AIIMS said. Parrikar, 62, was flown to the national capital owing to his declining health. Earlier this year, he had undergone a three-month-long treatment in the US.

Meanwhile, Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Chemicals, Ananth Kumar (59), is reportedly undergoing treatment in London for pancreatic cancer, reports informed. The Minister has now been in London for two weeks and he may even be shifted to the United States for further specialised treatment.
