Preliminary probe, according to reports, has indicated that the mother of the newborn was a minor from Imphal.
The infant's body was first found by the flight staff in the toilet. The baby's mouth was stuffed with toilet paper which indicated that it was a stillborn when brought out from the womb of the mother. The toilet paper might had been stuffed into its mouth to prevent it from crying and alerting passengers onboard.
The police has registered a case of death. Charges of murder would be invoked after obtaining sufficient leads in the preliminary probe.
