Bhubaneswar, May 11: A fire broke out in New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express on Saturday. The incident took place near Khantapada station in Odisha's Balasore district. According to reports, the fire broke out in the generator car of the train. Western Railway: 12 Trains Towards Mumbai Cancelled Due to Fire in Goods Train Near Dahanu, Suburban Services Normal Between Churchgate & Virar.
The coach was immediately detached from the rest of the train to prevent the fire from spreading to other coaches. The fire has been brought under control and no casualties or injuries have been reported. However, the exact cause of the blaze is still not known. Meanwhile, in March this year, a Dibrugarh-bound train caught fire leading to the death of at least two passengers onboard. The blaze, according to reports, erupted in three compartments of the Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express. The incident took place at Chathaat station in West Bengal, close to the city of Jalpaiguri.
