Janakpur, October 19: Nepal government on Thursday said that they have decided to invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Nepal on the occasion of 'Bibaha Panchami' which is on December 12. “We have decided to write to Indian PM Modi inviting him for a state visit to Nepal on December 12 on occasion of ‘Bibaha Panchami’. PM KP Oli’s chief adviser Bishnu Rimal said. A detailed report will be released as soon as the festive season is over,” ANI quoted Nepal PM Office

Notably, If PM Modi goes this will be his fifth visit to the Himalayan nation. According to the reports from Kathmandu Post, Indian PM will bring baraat from the birthplace of Lord Ram, Ayodhya to Janakpur where Sita, a worshipped figure in Hinduism, was born. During the 4th BIMSTEC Summit in Nepal, the plan of inviting PM Modi was discussed but his visit to Nepal is yet to be confirmed.

Earlier in May, PM Modi visited Janakpur to inaugurate a bus service between Janakpur-Ayodhya route and announced an aid of Rs 100 crore to Province No 2. According to the mythology, Janakpur is said to be the birthplace of Sita. In memory of Sita, a massive Janaki temple was built in 1910.
