NEET-UG Paper Leak: Probe Reveals Question Papers Provided to 20 Aspirants in Patna Day Before Exam

TOI reported that the accused, Sikander Yadavendu (56), had rented two to three rooms at a house in Ramkrishna Nagar, where he brought over 20 medical aspirants on May 4. Yadavendu, a native of Samastipur district, is said to have provided the aspirants with the question papers and answers. He had rented the rooms at a secluded house, previously a play school before the Covid pandemic, from where the candidates were taken to the exam centres on May 5.

Patna police had received a tip-off about the suspected paper leak a couple of hours before the exam. Yadavendu and his driver Bittu Kumar (38) were arrested from Shastri Nagar police station area, and the aspirants and their parents were held after the exam.

During a raid on Yadavendu’s rented flat, police recovered some burned question papers and arrested three others – Roshan Kumar, Nitish Kumar and Amit Anand – with laptops and cellphones.

The police are verifying the statements and trying to find out the whereabouts of the other aspirants involved in the matter.
