Chandigarh, July 17: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini today felicitated 113 candidates who passed the Haryana Civil Services (HCS)-2023 in a ceremony held here today.  While congratulating and extending best wishes to the successful candidates, the Chief Minister said that an officer's primary duty is to serve the public and simplify their lives. Therefore, all of you should diligently and honestly perform your duties, he said. He directed the Chief Secretary to ensure that all selected candidates join their duties today itself.

Nayab Singh Saini said that under the leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, the transparency seen in job recruitment over the past 10 years has been mirrored by the Haryana Government, which has also consistently provided government jobs based solely on merit, without any ‘Parchi Kharchi’, in the last 10 years. The Chief Minister, while making a special mention of former Chief Minister and present Union Minister Manohar Lal said that if a transparent system is to be created in the state, a firm stand must be taken. We took a strong stand, brought about systemic changes, and introduced transparency, which is benefiting the youth of the state today, he said.

Nayab Singh Saini shared his own experience, stating that he comes from a very humble family where no one had even contested a panchayat election. But today, the Prime Minister has given him the honour of becoming the Chief Minister of the state, whereas previously, to become a Chief Minister, one had to be born into a politician's or Chief Minister's family.

The goal is to ensure the benefits of government schemes reach the last mile citizen The Chief Minister said that it is the government's job to make policy decisions for the welfare of citizens, but it is the officers' responsibility to implement those decisions on the ground. Good governance means making citizens' lives easier and ensuring they receive the benefits of government schemes. Therefore, in line with the Antyodaya vision,  the sole goal of all the selected officers should be to ensure that the benefits of government policies reach the last person in society, said Sh.
