Bijapur, April 27: Two police officials were killed in a Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district, Police said. In the attack, a villager also sustained injuries after a Naxal fired open fired on them. The incident took place when two policemen were going to Tippapuram village on a motorcycle. According to reports, a team of four to five Naxals were responsible for firing at Constable Arvind Minj and assistant constable Sukku Habka who died on the spot. However, the villagers escaped with injuries, said DIG Sunderraj P. The injured people were rushed to the hospital in Charla for medical treatment. The attack comes just two days before polling in the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2019. Earlier this month, Bharatiya Janata Party legislator Bhima Mandavi and four others accompanying him in his convoy were killed by Maoists using an improvised explosive device (IED).
