Navi Mumbai, June 11: In a shocking incident in Navi Mumbai, an intoxicated man allegedly killed his five-month-old daughter after having a heated argument with his wife. Police officials said that the accused killed his daughter by slamming her onto the floor. The alleged incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, June 9, in Navi Mumbai's Uran area. The accused has been identified as Khushiram Thakur (21)

According to a report in the Hindustan Times, Thakur, a daily wage labourer, got into a fight with his wife, Amruta Thakur (19), at their home in Uran. During their argument, Amruta feared for their daughter's safety and took the child to her maternal home nearby. Man Slams Infant Daughter Onto the Floor

When his wife Amruta refused to give the child, Thakur got furious and snatched their daughter away from his wife. After this, he slammed the child onto the ground. Police also learned that the couple were married a year ago. The deceased girl, Ruhi, was their first child. Nagina Devi, Amruta's mother, said they were always troubled by the couple's frequent fights.

Child Declared Dead on Arrival

She also said that Khushiram would come home in an inebriated state and assault her daughter. Devi also said that they feared for the baby’s safety as Thakur was continuously threatening. Binnilal Ram, Amruta's father, said he tried to intervene multiple times, but the situation only got worse. Ram also claimed that Thakur also threatened to kill the child and his daughter. Speaking further, Ram said that the accused snatched the baby from his daughter and then threw her onto the floor. The child was immediately rushed to a hospital nearby, where she was declared dead on arrival. Meanwhile, acting on Ram's complaint, the police arrested Khushiram for killing his daughter.
