Mumbai, December 25: In a case of 'protector turning predator', a senior police officer of DIG (Deputy Inspector General) rank has been accused of molesting and stalking a minor girl. The serious accusations against the senior cop has been made by a Taloja based family in Navi Mumbai, The Times of India reported. Several members of Punjabi community, including actor Dolly Bindra, hit the streets to demand First Information Report (FIR) against the DIG. According to the report, the girl's father said that his family became friends with the senior cop a few years ago. The girl's father claimed that on his daughter's 17th birthday, the police officer came to his home and smeared cake on daughter's face. The also alleged that the "DIG touched her cheeks and chest... The father claimed that recently her daughter saw the DIG and few other policemen waiting at Kharghar where she goes to an educational institution. "She called us sounding scared and said she feared the DIG would kidnap her. One cop fled as we reached the spot. But even in this matter, the police did not file any FIR,” the father was quoted as saying by The Times of India.

Meanwhile, Zonal DCP Ashok Dudhe said that he is looking into the matter and viewed the video submitted by the girl's father. On stalking accusations, Dudhe said that the DIG was in Kharghar as his wife needed some medical attention.
