Navi Mumbai, September 28: In yet another disturbing case involving sexual assault, a 36-year-old man from Turbhe was sodomised in Vashi in an isolated spot and is reportedly fighting for life, said reports. The man has suffered considerable and serious rectum damage and was sodomised using coconut shells. The victim was subjected to sexual assault and sodomy on the night of September 23, when he had stopped at an isolated stop for smoking, an official privy to the preliminary probe said. The victim was admitted to a hospital on Tuesday where he underwent various surgeries to treat the injuries suffered due to the gangrape. On the same day, his relatives approached the Vashi police to register the FIR. The case has been booked against five unknown persons charged of gangraping the man.
As per the details shared by the victim, sketches were made of the five accused and an operation has been launched to nab them at the earliest, an official posted at the Vashi police station.
According to the victim, the accused appeared to be aged between 25-30 and were under the influence of alcohol. Some of them may had also consumed narcotic substances, he said.
Dr Prakash Shendge from Om Gagangiri Hospital in Koparkhairane was quoted saying by The Hindu that the man was brutally gangraped. The doctor also said that the man was in extreme pain and that pieces of coconot, cloth and condom was found in the victim's anal. He is said to be stable but extremely critical.
