New Delhi August 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday while addressing the nation on "Mann Ki Baat" said that on the occasion of National Sports Day on August 29, the government will be launching ‘Fit India Movement’. With an aim to keep the country fit, PM Modi said, "It will be an interesting campaign for all alike, women, children, young and old." Mann Ki Baat, August 25: Here are the Key Highlights.
"On the occasion of National Sports Day, we are going to launch the 'Fit India Movement' across the country. We have to keep ourselves fit and the nation has to be made fit," PM Modi said. The Prime minister also said that the country is gearing up for mega festival on October 2, the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. "When we celebrate Mahatma Gandhi's 150th anniversary we'll not only be dedicated to him an open defecation free India but also kick-starting a mass movement for making India plastic-free. I appeal to all to celebrate this year's Gandhi Jayanti by freeing Mother India of plastic," he said.
In the third radio broadcast of "Mann Ki Baat" after being re-elected for the second term, PM Modi also greeted the nation the occasion of Krishna- Janma Mahotsav. PM Modi also remembered the historic speech of Swami Vivekananda which he delivered on September 11, 1893.
