India mourned the loss of a great Statesman and one of India's greatest sons - Atal Bihari Vajpayee on August 16. Vajpayee breathed his last at 5.05pm at AIIMS in the national capital at the age of 93.

New Delhi, September 3: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday met the family members of the late Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the national capital and spent time with them. "Spent time with the family of beloved Atal Ji at their residence," the prime minister tweeted. The Prime Minister also tweeted a photo of the meeting using his personal Twitter handle 

India mourned the loss of a great Statesman and one of India's greatest sons - Atal Bihari Vajpayee on August 16. Vajpayee breathed his last at 5.05pm at AIIMS in the national capital at the age of 93. He was admitted to the hospital in June this year and was undergoing treatment but his conditioned deteriorated in the last three days.

Vajpayee, the three-time Prime Minister of India, was a statesman in the true sense. His mortal remains were taken to his residence in New Delhi and his last rites were performed at Smriti Sthal in New Delhi the following day.

Vajpayee was admitted at the AIIMS on June 11 with a kidney infection, urinary tract infection, low urine output and chest congestion. According to a report by PTI, Vajpayee, who was also a diabetic patient, had only one functional kidney. He had also suffered a stroke in 2009.
