Nallasopara Waterlogging: NDRF Team Rescues Passengers Stranded On 12928 Vadodara Express, Buses Arranged To Take Them From Nallasopara Station

Buses have been arranged to take passengers stranded on Nallasopar-Virar route to the nearest station for further commute by suburban services,tweeted Western Railway.

Mumbai, July 10: In an extraordinary gesture of compassion and alertness, members of RPF/WR & NGOs and NDRF reached out to the passengers of 12928 Vadodara Express which is standing between Nallasopar - Virar, and started distribution of food packets/water to provide relief to the passengers. The NDRF team, which reached the spot, have already rescued 411 passengers and are in the process of rescuing more passengers.

About 35 members of NDRF reached Nallasopara to help WR to provide relief to the passengers & carry out other relief/rescue measures, tweeted the Western Railways:

NDRF team & RPF staff brought food and water to the passengers of 12928 Vadodara Express , which is stranded between Nallasopara-Virar, to Nallasopara station.

Buses have been arranged to take them to the nearest station for further commute by suburban services,tweeted Western Railway:

Mumbai and surrounding areas of Raigad, Palghar and Thane have been receiving heavy rainfall for the past 72 hours. Waterlogging has been reported from various places, with Nalasopara station being the worst hit as tracks remain submerged in water. Skymet Weather has predicted very heavy rainfall in Mumbai and Western India for the next 24 hours as well.
