Mumbai, October 23: A nine-year-old girl named is fighting for her life after suffering a severe brain injury inflicted by her tuition teacher in Nallasopara, adjacent to Mumbai. The incident occurred on October 5, but the girl was admitted to a hospital a week later as her health deteriorated.

According to a Times of India report, the victim girl, Deepika, is on the ventilator at the KJ Somaiya Hospital in Mumbai. According to police reports, the 20-year-old private tuition teacher, Ratna Singh, slapped Deepika twice under her ear for allegedly being mischievous in class.
