Hyderabad, August 27: In a shocking incident in Telangana, a drunk man allegedly killed his mother first and later died by suicide in Telangana's Nalgonda district. The incident occurred late at night on Saturday, August 24, at Nidamanooru in Nalgonda. Police officials said that the accused identified as Shiva (36) was upset as his ex-wife got married to another man.
The deceased woman has been identified as Saiamma (65). Cops said that Shiva killed his mother by slitting her throat with a knife, reports TOI. After murdering his mother, Shiva went on to take his own life in the same manner. It is alleged that the incident took place while Shiva was in an inebriated state. During the investigation, cops learned that Saiamma and her husband Veeraiah had two daughters and two sons. Of all the children, Shiva was the youngest. Cops also found that Shiva got married 12 years ago to a woman who was a close relative. However, it is reported that he became an alcoholic and used to frequently pick up quarrels with his wife. The elders tried to resolve the issue on several occasions but things didn't change. In the end, his wife decided to divorce him.
They also learned that Shiva's ex-wife decided to get remarried. The wedding event was on Saturday, August 24 and the news did not go well with Shiva, who started drinking alcohol in the morning. Officials said that the murder and suicide took place when Shiva and his mother were alone at night. Meanwhile, the police have also recovered the weapon from the crime scene. Cops suspect that Shiva could have killed his mother out of frustration that his ex-wife was getting married or Saiamma refusing to give him money.
