Nagpur, June 11: In a shocking case, a 4-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 25-year-old man in Wadi city of Maharashtra's Nagpur, the police said on Tuesday. As per preliminary investigations, the accused committed the crime after showing her some obscene videos. The accused, identified as Bhusan Dahat, is a distant relative of the minor girl. The survivor's mother used to work as a domestic help to earn her livelihood and is very close to Dahat's sister for the past few years. As the summer vacations are going on, the girl used to accompany her mother. She also used to spend time at the residence of accused as her mother used to work, said police. On Sunday too, the survivor's mother took her to Dahat's resident and asked her to stay there. She noticed that the child's health is deteriorating. When she questioned her about it, the minor narrated the ordeal. Police Inspector RL Pathak told news agency ANI that," a case has been registered under section 376 of the IPC."

In a similar incident from Nagpur, last year, a 10-year-old minor was raped for six months by her neighbour. The accused used to scare the accused and threatened her of dire consequences if she tells anyone about the incident. The accused was later arrested and booked under sections3 76(a), (b), 506 and 509 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) along with relevant sections of POCSO Act.
