Nagaland: Two Assam Rifles Jawans Martyred in Encounter With NSCN Militants, Three Others Injured

In a tragic incident, two Assam Rifle jawan’s were martyred after a convoy carrying the security personnel was ambushed by Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagaland –Khaplang (NSCN-K)militants on Saturday.

Kohima, May 25: In a tragic incident, two Assam Rifle jawan’s were martyred after a convoy carrying the security personnel was ambushed by Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagaland –Khaplang (NSCN-K)militants on Saturday. The incident took place at around 1 pm today between Tobu and Ukha village in Nagaland's Mon district. Three others were also reported to be injured in the gunfight. Arunachal Pradesh: NPP MLA Tirong Aboh Among 11 Killed in Militant Attack by NSCN Insurgents in Tirap.

As per reports, the gunbattle lasted for about an hour. However, there are no reports of casualties of NSCN militants till now. Meanwhile, the injured were been shifted to a nearby hospital.

The incident took place three days after 11 people including Arunachal Pradesh assembly, Tirong Aboh was killed in a militant attack by insurgents in Tirap region. The deceased, an MLA of the National People's Party (NPP), was gunned down along with 6 family members at his residence. The attackers are suspected to be members of the NSCN.
