Mysuru, July 23: In a shocking incident reported at a girls hostel in Mysuru , a man was found stealing the undergarments of the hostel inmates. A CCTV has captured the entire incident that unraveled at KR Nursing Hostel. According to news reports, the thief barged into the hostel at around 3 pm and was found walking through the corridors of the hotel aimlessly. Later he was seen stealing the undergarments which were kept left out to dry on a rope. The reports further mention that after an inmate saw the man stealing the undergarments, she tried to raise an alarm but was nabbed by the thief who then tried to strangle her.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the region, and has once again recalled the memories of the year 1996-2002, when  a serial killer, Umesh Reddy, had raped and killed as many as 18 women in Mysuru. In the recent incident, the burglar did not harm the girl physically but managed to decamp with the girl's mobile phone. The police have filed an FIR in the case.

A similar incident reported last year when a naked man was caught by the local police at the Maharani College of Myusru stealing women's' undergarments from the hostel premises.
