Mumbai, September 19: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, popularly known as BMC, on Thursday launched an application to fix potholes in Mumbai. On seeing any potholes, Mumbaikars can report it to "MyBMC Pothole FixIt" app. The application is only available for android users who can download it from Google Play Store. A separate link- mcgm.mybmcpotholefixit.com - is also provided where IOS users can file a complaint. BMC Launches New App ‘MyBMC Pothole FixIt’ to Report and Get Potholes Fixed Anywhere in Mumbai.
"Mumbai, we've found a 'hole'-some solution to pothole woes! See a cavity? Report it with the new MyBMC Pothole Fixit app which identifies its location & keeps you updated on the resolution of your complaint. Together, let's smoothen the road to progress: http://bit.ly/potholefixit," the civic body tweeted. Mumbai Potholes: BMC Has Spent Rs 100 Crore in Filling 24,000 Potholes Since 2013.
Here are steps to use MyBMC Pothole FixIt:
- Download the app from the Google Play Store
- There will be two options- Citizen and MCGM Users
- Select Citizen, and click on Report Pothole
- Enter your mobile number and email address
- Click the picture and fill the details.
After submitting the picture of a pothole, the BMC officials look into the issue and try to fix it in the shortest time. The civic body said that it is the responsibility of citizens to ensure the road-related work is properly done by contractors.
Recently, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Supriya Sule targeted Maharashtra government over bad conditions of roads. She also asked commuters to take selfies with potholes on the streets in their areas.
