Patna, July 20: Harpreet Kaur, SSP Muzaffarpur, has said that the medical reports of 21 girls of the Muzaffarpur shelter home, where girls were allegedly raped and molested, have been received by the police. The officer said that the "possibility of sexual contact cannot be ruled out", except in the case of 5 girls. Officer Kaur also added that report of 8 more girls are awaited.

SSP of Muzaffarpur, Harpreet Kaur, gave the information about the reports of the girls to news agency ANI:

The Muzaffarpur shelter home rape case came to light after the 44 girls living in the shelter house alleged that they were raped and abused in the house. The shelter home is run by an NGO named Seva Sankalp Evam Vikas Samiti, and the girls said that they were shown pornographic films and given sedatives before getting sexually assaulted.

The girls also informed that those girls who resisted the assault were roughed up badly. The National Commission For Women (NCW) member Sushma Sahu, had visited Muzaffarpur in June to probe the sexual exploitation of girls at the shelter home and revealed the chilling details.
