Muzaffarnagar, April 15: In a shocking case reported from Uttar Pradesh, a 22-year-old woman was allegedly raped by two men in front of her mother in a sugarcane field in Muzaffarnagar. The incident happened in Kakrauli area of the district on Sunday. The accused, identified as Dilshad and an unidentified person, are on a run. According to the complaint filed by the victim's father, the incident took place when his daughter had gone to buy medicine with her mother. The accused forcefully took the victim to a nearby sugarcane field and raped her. In another incident, a teenager girl was allegedly raped at a gunpoint in Shamli district's Bhabisa village. The incident took place when the victim went to relieve herself in the fields. The girl's father filed a police complaint and alleged that the accused threatened her daughter of dire consequences if she discloses the matter.

The 16-year-old was found in an unconscious state, said police officials. A case has been registered under section 376 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, said D K Tyagi, Kandhla Station House Officer.
